Every Katharian is welcome
Membership is open to anyone who was a pupil of Kataragama President’s Central College and has since left the school, whatever the year and whatever the reason, whether or not they completed their education there.
Ordinary Members aged 18 and over are Voting Members: they attend, speak and vote at General Meetings, may stand for office, receive the accounts and propose resolutions. Silver, Gold and Platinum supporter tiers are open to members and well-wishers who wish to give more.

How to join
- Complete the application form. Download it below or collect one from the Secretary. Print clearly and sign.
- Bring your original School Leaving Certificate. The Association checks the original, keeps a copy on your file and returns the original to you. If the certificate is lost, a letter from the Principal confirming your attendance, or other reliable evidence accepted by the committee, may be produced instead (clause 5.3).
- Pay the subscription. LKR 1,000 for Ordinary Membership, to the Association’s bank account (details from the Treasurer) or in cash against an official receipt.
- Verification and admission. The Communications and Membership Secretary verifies your application and the committee admits you by recorded resolution. You then receive your member number and notices of all meetings.
Your data
Your name, contact details, years at the College, category and subscription position are kept in a secure register under the Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022 and the Association’s privacy policy. Membership data is never sold or used for political or commercial marketing.
Members’ rights and duties
Members follow the Constitution and Code of Conduct, protect pupils and the good name of the College, keep their contact details up to date and pay subscriptions when due. Membership lapses if a subscription remains unpaid twelve months after a reminder, and may be restored on payment.
